Your questions answered
If you're ready to spruce up your home this season, you've likely thought of hiring a window treatment professional. You're nervous, though. You don't know what to expect, and you keep having thoughts like...
"What if she doesn't listen to what I want?"
"Will this be ridiculously expensive?"
"Couldn't I just do this myself?"
Rest easy, because a window treatment professional is your friend, not an opposing force. Here are three things I can set your mind at ease about:
Will your window pro be a good listener?
Absolutely! I take detailed notes about your lifestyle, color and texture preferences, and overall preferred design aesthetic. If you are working with an interior designer for the rest of your home, I will collaborate with him / her to make sure your window treatments flow seamlessly with the rest of your new space. This includes making sure your custom drapery or shades complement the existing design and create a cohesive look throughout your home.
Are custom window treatments expensive?
If you are working within a budget, no problem. Tell me what your budget is (or I will ask), and let me create a treatment within those parameters.
Many factors contribute to the final cost of a window treatment, including the hardware you choose, the size of the project, and the amount of work required (e.g., how many windows and how big said windows are).
For example, if you decide on wood blinds or shutters, the cost may vary depending on the material and customization options. When you work with me, I'll provide a detailed contract that removes any doubts and ensures your project is clear and stress-free.
Can't I just do this myself?
Of course, you can. While your resources will be limited (window treatment pros have access to textile warehouses that the non-professional does not), you can still find wholesale window treatments that are decent quality. I would not recommend taking on your entire house yourself, as this can often be an overwhelming task.
If you plan on re-covering your windows, consider asking for advice. I’m happy to answer your questions, provide color consultations, and help you navigate the intricate maze of window fashions. If you need a break, hand it off to me. I’m here for you.
