Celebrating & Remembering Our Freedom
Do you take your freedom for granted? This Independence Day, take a moment to discuss with your family what life would be like if you couldn't work, act, or believe according to your own choices. The price for our independence must be paid continuously, which is why we'd like to recognize the ongoing sacrifice of our service men and women.
Be sure to thank the veteran, local leader, or politician in your family. Our freedom is a privilege and rests on the shoulders of those who fight for it, both on the ground and in the polls.
We hope you have a wonderful 4th of July!
3 Things You Didn't Know about the First Independence Day Celebration
While nearly everyone can recall that our independence was won in 1776, very few have heard the secrets we are about to divulge:
The first Independence Day party menu included turtle soup, salmon, potatoes, and Indian pudding...not quite what you'll be serving at your July 4th barbecue.
The tune of our national anthem comes from an old English drinking song that touted the praises of wine.
The turkey nearly became our national bird. (We think the bald eagle was a wise choice.)

DESIGN TREND
Gray & beige are fading
Though the design world fell in love with greige, it has begun flirting with a bolder color scheme...but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the serenity of a neutral palette. We design for you, not for a trend.
DESIGN TIP
Create depth
Mix patterns, textures, and materials to give your living space more depth and personality. If patterns tend to overwhelm you, use them selectively in throw pillows or art and leave your walls / ceiling as solid colors.
