Clients who have investment properties will often use 2" or 2 1/2" blinds since they are one of the most affordable window coverings and also because they are durable and flexible with most tenant’s furnishings.
Blinds have been around for a long while and oftentimes people tire of them and want something new. They are still a great choice, though, if you are on a tighter budget. There are now many color and finish options to allow some interest and variety from room to room.
So, today, I want to dispel the misconceptions about blinds and show you just how beautiful they can still be…
Misconception #1: Blinds May Ruin Your View
We agree that there are some cheap looking blinds on the market that can be a distraction. Our studio sells only quality blinds in a variety of finishes so they can tie back to your furnishings or highlight the view. Blinds open and close easily, which is another benefit of this treatment type.
Misconception #2: Blinds Are Hard to Keep Clean
If you aren't careful with your blind selection, they can be hard to clean. If you select a quality blind, it is a breeze to clean with just a damp cloth or with the soft brush attachment on your vacuum cleaner.
Misconception #3: Blinds Break Easily
If you purchase inexpensive blinds from one of the big box stores, don't expect them to last. If you purchase a quality blind from a window covering specialist and then have them properly installed, they'll last for years.
Misconception #4: Blinds’ Cords Are Unsafe for Kids
Most of the manufacturers of blinds offer breakaway cord options. To be on the extra safe side, we recommend cordless or motorized options to assure they are safe and hassle-free.
Misconception #5: Blinds Cost Too Much
There seems to be a misconception out there that it is much less expensive to purchase from a box store versus from a window covering specialist. As with anything, there is a wide investment range, but our entry level products are typically competitive with the box stores and they are high quality and better looking.
If you want a nice looking and yet budget-friendly window covering, consider blinds and think about options other than plain white. Not only can they enhance the beauty inside, but they can highlight the views outside as well.
